Laundries Drained Me

These are 30% of the clothes I washed with my hands.

Whew! I was up hand washing dirty clothes for almost five hours. It made my back painful. This is one of the toughest job every mother is facing. If I can only get rid of this chores. But....
Stephany usually do the laundry every Saturday because I make it sure that I washed the 2 kids, mine and my hubby's clothes everyday.
But still the dirty clothes every Saturday is like mountain because my younger brother  brought  home his one week's dirty clothes from his dormitory. Plus we change our bedsheets pillow cases and towels during this day.
Stephany informed me that she had to wash clothes on Friday because their Prelim Examination was moved to Saturday. I want to make protest Jonathan's clothes are the major laundry on Saturday, it means there is no other person who can wash it but me. Another is, She will use washing machine, we only use it once a week. So I'll end up washing with my bare hands. I'm afraid that if we break the routine..(use Washing machine once a week) our electric bill would soar high. It would mean a strain to our monthly budget.
I really have to do the hand washing! I am tempted to use the washing machine but the electric bill!? If only my hubby could  afford  to provide  an energy saving device connected to our electrical meter I would not be hesitant to use any electrical device that would make my job as a mother lighter and easier.
Some of the clothes I hand washed still in the laundry line not yet fully dry.

Thanking God

In everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus ( I Thessalonian 5:18).
It is is really difficult to do this especially when we are confronted with many pressures and trials in life. Just 3 day ago my daughter Juwella has a fever. I was beginning to worry about things which do not exist yet. The "what if"....What if Juwella has dengue- it is on it's season in the Philippines during rainy days. What if she has viral infection and it will get worst? The very root cause of these worries is the financial aspect and maybe lack of faith.
Many Filipinos don't have savings or any budget for health aspects. Going to the hospital for check up is not a habit. We went to see doctors when health problem gets worst. It is our least priority. But when sickness comes at the back of my mind is the thought of neglecting to have a "Pre-med plan" for myself and my children. I want to blame my self for this but what can I do when my budget is just enough for our basic needs.
Now, I'm in this reality who can help but my faith. My faith that God is our healer. He will heal my daughter from her sickness. God knows our capacity. He knows our limitations. He allows thing to happen for a purpose that we might know Him more and grow in our faith.
Though Juwella is not completely healed right now. I trust God that He will do it. He will even enable my family to get a  medical plan for my us so we could be prepared. He allowed me to see this so I will know the need and has to consider it.
" Thank you Lord for letting me see things as You see it. Thank you for giving me faith to believe. Thank you for letting me experience trials so I can see You working in my life. Thank You for all these experiences. Thank you for the realization that you allowed things for your greater glory! Amen!"

Two Sleeps More
I cant wait for this.... my husband promised to paint the wall of our bedroom. He decided to paint it by himself. Getting laborer for the painting will cost much. I want to be surprised what paint he will use and the color..... Surprise!
Painting it does not only make the room alive but also it will protect the walls and the ceiling.

Teen-agers

Oh My God, My Teener
Having high school children at home is interesting, annoying and heart breaking. This is crucial stage in life. Teenagers  thought they are big enough to decide for themselves but too careless to be responsible in their actions. They thought they are always in the right track and parents or adults are antagonist and kill joy.

At home we have 2 high schoolers a boy and a girl. They annoyed me sometimes especially when they play sound so loud and choose Music that you think do not suggest lesson in life. If tell them to slow the tune down they will just ignore. There are more  annoying experiences in rearing grown up kids that "Oh my God, test our patient. That if you do not handle carefully would lead to clash of principles and they;ll look at you as such primitive old people. They broke our heart into pieces because we also look at ourselves as person of authority.
Parents should be wise enough in handling teenagers. In a way that it should not be too slack and not so strict. Either of these might cause negative effect to our youth. Too slack may lead them to be liberated and be led astray. Too strict and tight may lead them to rebellion. We should sometimes go down to their level so that we may understand them. But the best way to rear up young ones is through the word of God ( Ephesians 6:4, Parents do not bring your children to anger but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.)
Indeed parenting  teens is a challenge and we could beat this with God's help.

The Lord is my shepherd I shall lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pasture . He leads me beside quite waters.

Psalm 23:1&2
This verse reminds me always that I have a good Shepherd my God. I don't have to worry about anything.

shoe plea

Worn out by time, frequent rain and a harsh feet. These shoes did not escape the calamity. Even how they wanted to serve their masters. They are too weak and frail to do that. Their lives have endings. They're sadden to say good bye but they have to do it. Before they leave and rest for good. They are begging, "Please buy me a SUBSTITUTE!".

Costumes for Girls

Costume for Girls

My youngest daughter Hannah excitedly handed me a letter when she arrived from school. The letter was to inform parents about the 7the foundation day of their school. In the letter they stated the costume to wear by the Pre-Schooler. Costume of Disneyland character... It became a problem. Should I buy a ready made? It might be costly. Should I go to the dressmaker and let her saw a costume or look for costume for rent? It is mind boggling especially for busy moms.

Away from Home

Being away from home is a lonely experience especially when you are alone leaving your family behind. But on the other hand it could be enjoyable because you will be visiting new places, meet old and new faces and gain new experiences.

It's good that there are accommodating people to accommodate you in a comfortable billeting places where you can relax, enjoy and forget for a while the comfort of home after tiring works during conferences or seminars.

It was wonderful adventure when the PAESPA (Philippine Association for Elementary School Paper Adviser) Executive Officers with the Regional President held its annual workshop in Cebu, then side trip to Bohol. A travel agency facilitated our trip that made our escapade a grand one.

Music Lover

My little girl Juwella really love Music especially playing musical instrument. I was glad that their school offered a "rondalla" for the children who have interest in Music. She joined the group she was given the chance to play "banduria" since she has little and shorter fingers. I was very surprised that she can memorize a music piece for just a short time.

Last summer we had her enrolled in piano lesson. She had her recital. She was excited to perform but I was more excited for her. With music she can build self discipline and confidence.

I passed this way again

I Passed this Way Again
A rugged road going to Tuburan, Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines

A wonderful view overlooking the river connecting Southwest and West of the City
It rings into my mind, the song " I'll never pass this way again". It is opposite to what
I always long to experience once again-" passing that way again"
It is barely7 years now after the last time I passed by this familiar rugged road going to Tuburan, one of the rural community in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. I was assigned as a Public School Teacher in this place way back June 2002 . Though the road is not cemented and stones are scattered all over the way. The hilly that made our motorcycle sway. Especially during rainy season the sticky muds that made my husband grip hard in the handle of motor.
These difficulties are nothing compared to the beauty you will enjoy when you reach the hill of Pangantukan a neighboring barangay. What a glorious sight!
It might not be exactly the same as I viewed it before but I still noticed it could be a wonderful escape from the pollution of the city. The serenity of the place and natural air will really captivate your heart and relax your mind.

I never thought I could pass this way again. Thanks to my husband who made this possible through God's divine purpose. I am praying to pass this way over and over again.

The Joy of My Desire

My Joy
My joy is in loving,
People even the unlovable,
That I in my act of loving
God is glorified

(Taken during our Christmas giving to the least fortunate people. They were very happy. Giving to others bring joy to us)

My joy is in sharing
Whatever I may have
That I may give freely
Without expecting any reward.

My joy is in caring
For other who may need it
The comfort and joy it may give them
Give hope and life.

My joy is in knowing
Everything that can help me grow
So when my life on earth is done
My joy can be perfect in Him alone

Hannah's Stain

Hannah's Stain

Meet Hannah my youngest girl who is fun of anything that made her clothes full of stain after

My youngest girl is so active and playful. She tries to explore things play with it manipulate it. Plant leaves, paints, my cosmetics-nail polish, eye shadows and lipstick nothing can escape from her imaginative world and fun. After those activities expect to wash clothes full of stains. It made my back ache scrubbing all those blemishes left on her clothes.

Solution ? To surf tips on how to remove stains and dirts without fading the color of clothes or making it still look not worn out.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Soap
  • Detergent
  • Ice
  • Dry cleaning fluid
  • Ammonia
  1. Step 1

Let's start with grease stains. Most grease stains can be removed by simply rubbing them well with soap or detergent and then washing the clothing in hot, soapy water. If, however, any grease stain still remains, try to sponge the stain with dry cleaning fluid. This should remove any remaining stains from your clothes.

  2. Step 2

Next let's look into how to remove gum from clothes. First, you'll want to chill the stain with ice until the gum easily rolls into a ball when scraped. Then you should sponge off the remaining stain with dry cleaning fluid, wash in warm soapy water, and rinse well to fully remove the stains from your clothes.

  3. Step 3

Another common clothing stain is from ink. First, you'll want to rinse the clothing in cool water, and then wash it in hot soapy water with a few drops of ammonia added and rinse well afterwards. If any stain still remains, add 3 tablespoons of oxalic acid crystals to 1 pint of water, and soak for 15 minutes. Follow this with a good rinse of water mixed with a few drops of ammonia. It's amazing how well ammonia works to remove stains from clothes!

  4. Step 4

A common clothing stain for women comes from their best friend: lipstick. To remove lipstick stains from clothes, you must sponge the lipstick spot with dry cleaning fluid, wash the clothes with warm soapy water, and rinse well.

  5. Step 5

Another common clothing stain for women comes from nail polish. To remove this stain from clothes, you need to first soak the stain with acetone or any nail polish remover. Then wash the clothing in warm soapy water and rinse well.

  6. Step 6

Now here's a good stain for men and women: paint. To remove paint stains from clothes, first try to remove as much of the fresh paint as possible from the clothing. Then rub the stain with dry cleaning fluid or pure turpentine, wash in warm soapy water, and rinse well.

  7. Step 7

Another common stain that needs to be removed from clothing is from blood. To remove blood stains from clothes, you'll need to soak the fresh stain in cold water until the stain turns light brown. Then wash the clothing in warm soapy water. If any stain remains, soak the clothing in a mixture of 2 tablespoons of ammonia to each gallon of water for 15 minutes. Then wash and rinse.

  8. Step 8

To remove coffee and tea stains from clothes, you should first soak the stain in warm soapy water and then wash the clothes as you normally do. If any stain remains, try bleaching the stain with chlorine bleach and sponging the stain with dry cleaning fluid if there was any cream in the coffee.

  9. Step 9

To remove fruit stains from clothes, stretch the stained clothing over a bowl and pour boiling water over the stain. You may have to repeat this process several times before you wash and rinse. If any stain remains, try using some household bleach.

  10. Step 10

Lastly, a very common stain for kids is the all too familiar grass stain. To remove grass stains from clothes, first rub soap into the stain and scrub. Then wash the clothing in hot soapy water. If any stain remains, you can try to bleach the clothing in a solution of 1 teaspoon sodium perborate to one pint hydrogen peroxide. You'll want to be sure to first test this solution on an inconspicuous part of the clothing. If the solution tests safely on the clothing, soak it for a half an hour or longer and rinse well.
