Dora the Explorer- Not Innocent as She Is

My kids Juwella and Hannah love this cartoon character. When our Television set was still connected to Parasat Cable TV, they knew pretty well the time slot of Dora. Nobody can tune the TV to another channel. They also like to collect novelty items that show case Dora. They really love it. My kids are only among the million fans of this what they called "innocent girl with back-packs.
Yet they do not know what is behind Dora's back pack.  She is not innocent as she is as I read this on the Yahoo News:

Teen "Dora The Explorer" Voice Sues Nickelodeon

A teenager who gave voice to the spunky heroine of Nickelodeon's "Dora The Explorer" says the network cheated her out of millions of dollars by underpaying her for work on the groundbreaking children's cartoon series.

Caitlin Sanchez, 14, didn't get the fees she was due for reruns, recordings for DVDs and other Dora products and hundreds of hours of promotional work, she and her family said in a lawsuit filed against Nickelodeon and its corporate parents.

"They took advantage of her," her lawyer, John Balestriere, said Thursday.

Nickelodeon said Caitlin's claims were baseless, and her contract was extensively negotiated.

"She was well-compensated for her work and for personal appearances," network spokesman David Bittler said.

"Dora The Explorer," now in its 10th year, has become a cartoon icon and a cultural force.
While she made $5,115 per episode, she wasn't paid or was grossly undercompensated for at least 160 extra hours of recording work, and at least 400 hours of promotions, marketing and interviews, her lawsuit said. While traveling the country to talk up the show, she got only $40 a day, it said.

She also wasn't paid her due share of profits from Dora merchandise and her residuals, or rerun fees, for at least 325 airings of her "Dora" episodes - even as Nickelodeon executives told her she'd played a big role in the show's success, according to her lawsuit. One said there had never been "a more high-profile face to a voice," the lawsuit said.

Proudly Pinoy on Glee Club

Charice Pempengco a talent that every Filipino must be proud of. Many people from all over the world was stunned by her voice Oprah was one. And now the newest member of the  Glee Club where is was gladly welcomed.
"Welcome to glee clubWith these words, McKinley High’s Glee club coach Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) invites Filipina exchange student Sunshine Corazon to join his group, New Directions. He has been suitably impressed, after hearing Sunshine's soaring vocals in a rendition of the song “Listen," originally sung by BeyoncĂ©.

One member of the team, however, is less than enthused about the whole thing. Rachel Berry (Lea Michele), lead singer of New Directions, sits with a forced smile throughout Sunshine’s audition, despite the standing ovation and wholehearted approval from everyone else in the group.

Sunshine Corazon is played, of course, by Pinay singing sensation Charice Pempengco, who has gained international fame through appearances on the Oprah Winfrey show, the release of her hit single “Pyramid," and collaborations with Celine Dion and other big names in the music industry.

Charice made her debut in the first episode of Glee, season 2, in black-framed glasses and pigtails, a petite girl with an astonishingly full voice. She is set to be a recurring character on the show.

The Glee season 2 premier aired in the Philippines on Wednesday at 4 p.m. on the ETC cable channel, with a replay in the evening on free television. Larissa Mae Suarez/JV, GMANews.TV
